No More Tape
I have been using regular tape to take out those white shreds of fabric on my clothing after laundry. I reverse the tape, making the sticky part go on the outside, then roll it on over any piece of my clothing which needs cleaning.

Good thing I went into this small office/school supplies store near my apartment yesterday. I saw a real lint remover which costs only 9rmb. The roll is actually 3 meters-long and comes in pink.

I saw a different kind in one of the more expensive supermarkets here and they were selling it for 35rmb. Such a rip-off! That's why I'm happy.

Knight Out

Yes, Grey's Anatomy's T.R. Knight has come out of the closet.
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight said in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me." (from perezhilton.com)
Although I think he's better off straight.

Zhouzhuang

Last saturday, I went out on a trip with a few people from my volleyball group. We visited Zhouzhuang, a town that's about an hour and a half away from Shanghai by land. It's mainly surrounded by water with boats as the main transportation for short distance trips. It was originally built in 1086 and is famous for the preservation of numerous buildings of the the Ming and Qing Dynasties (yes, I researched that).
Among the other sights that caught my attention were:

These birds are actually used for fishing. The fishermen tie the birds' necks, blocking their throats, disabling them to swallow the fishes they catch with their beaks. In that way, all the fishes are just stuck in their mouths.

And here is the Chinese' verison of a Hello Kitty lamp. Too bad they didn't have Fido Dido.

Sightings
A friend of mine is visiting here in Shanghai and what best way to make him remember his trip is to show him the sights of the Bund. I've been here a couple of times but last night's view was spectacular.

And look at what we spotted inside a phonebooth as we were headed to Bar Rouge.....

Look closely:

I guess she never called.
